Wat Suan Dok temple built inside Suan Dok Centre which is a royal park in the Mangrai dynasty, in 1371(This era according to the Book Shinnakanmalipakorn of Pra Rattana Punya Ked), Gue Na 6th ruler of Chiang Mai from Mangrai dynasty officially endorse to built “Phra Aa Ram Luang (Loyal temple)” to be the temple of the “Monk Sumana Thera” who bring Theravada Buddhism into the Lanna and built pagoda for place “Relic” One of two relic which “Monk Sumana Thera” invoked from Sukhothai in 1969(another place at Wat Phra that Doi Suthep temple) Mangrai dynasty era Wat suan Dok temple is very prosperous, but after the end of Mangrai dynasty the city is in the lordship of Myanmar that made city riot. Wat Suan Dok temple became an abandoned temple. Wat Suan Dok temple has been rebuilt again in “Phra Borom Maracha Tibadhi Kawila”era of Thipchakrathiwong dynasty (Chet Ton Dynasty) and has been maintained by Northern Lords and Chiang Mai people. Wat Suan Dok Temple has twice important rebuilt. First time in 1907 Princess Dara Rasmi consorts of Chulalongkorn, King Rama V of Siam officially endorse to gathering the bones of the rulers of Chiang Mai and relative to place together after that another rebuilt in 1932 is a rebuilt of the temple by Khruba Siwichai monk of Lanna
